OMMA; status in general and possible Legislative issues
Per people "in the know" in the medical community,. The Oregon Medical Association and the Board of Medical Examiners are "fine with the law", meaning they do not think it's a bad law, that it should be repealed. Further it's reported that over 400 doctors have signed for people, there is about 1,000 patients with the remainder of the cardholders being care-givers.<see report>
For what it is worth, we had a report form some activists who met recently with local authorities concerning such issues as the Cannabis Café <link>. These were very powerful authorities, at the level of the DA (District Attorney) who campaigned actively against the measure that became OMMA. They were told, the activists … by said authorities, that they, the authorities, "had been proven wrong." There was no mass of crime and destruction due to this law. Now just get them to say it in public. Or act like it.
Evaluating OMMA; can we get better data on patient access to supply? A wish list legislative or otherwise:
